Setting a Precedent for M1 in Residential
If M1 zoning is approved for any data center development, we can’t put the genie back in the bottle. The area surrounding a data center would be much less desirable for continued development of local communities and neighborhoods. That development would shift to other areas of the city and squash Spring Hill’s future for population growth.
As property values decline for the area surrounding a data center it makes that land more attractive to future industrial development. Each new industrial development near a data center would expand the impact and it would cause a domino effect of crashing property values and could lead to long-term development of more and more industry in the area.
Ongoing industrial development will change Spring Hill from a quiet town to an area largely dedicated to industrial, forever shifting the landscape and future of the community
